KNOTTED1 binding loci in immature ears (from the Hake lab - Maize Inflorescence Project) Binding loci for the KNOX transcription factor KNOTTED1 (KN1) were identified in two biological replicates of ear primordia (0.5-1.0 cm) using a KN1-specific chromatin immunoprecipitaion (ChIP) assay followed by Illumina sequencing. Subtracks Ear1 and Ear2 show all the peaks identified in each sample. 6511 peaks overlapping between the two samples are considered high confidence binding loci, and are shown as tall vertical bars on each track in a zoomed in view (click these to get the overlapping sequence). Details on the experimental design, data analysis, correlation with gene expression, and a comparison of RNA-seq data from different tissues in gain- and loss-of-function kn1 alleles which identified 643 KN1-bound genes as likely direct targets, can be found in Bolduc et al., Genes and Dev 2012 (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22855831).
